A Wedding Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Unfortunately I have a cold but it seems to be improving. I am hoping that I feel completely  better by the weekend as we have lots to do as usual.

I made a wedding card for one of my Design Teams then I changed my mind and used another card instead.

I used my Spellbinder's corner dies and and ornate square die. The background was embossed with the Heart Lattice embossing folder from Creative Expressions.

This is a Tattered Lace die it is one of the most useful dies I received when I was on their design team.

I stamped the sentiment with a Clarity Stamp.

The birds and ribbon die is another from Tattered Lace this one was from a magazine.

There are a couple of people getting married at work I shall use this card for one of them.

New Baby Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great week. The weather here has been rather kind.

I was asked to make a new baby card for a colleague of my husband. The request was for it to be not gender specific.

I decided to go for yellows and greens. The paper and card were in my stash. I cut a frame for the image with Innsbruck die set from the Austrian Collection designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

The cute hedgehog is a stamp by Penny Black called Baby Hammock. I added the sentiments top and bottom from a stamp set by LC Designs. All the stamps were stamped with Watering Can Archival and the image was coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I used the Delicate Daisy dies and the Faux Quilled Leaves single leaf to create the flowers and leaves. Those are Sue Wilson dies too.

I was pleased with how this card turned out. I often make cards for people at my husband's work.

First Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend. We had a lovely time. On Saturday we met our daughter in town and  after a nice meal we bought a beautiful tiara and a veil. One more thing ticked off the wedding to do list. On Sunday we had a meal at our local Prezzo where I drank a bit too much Prosecco. It was an offer for Mother's Day.

The couple I made the wedding stationery for last year had their first anniversary at the weekend. It is unbelievable how quickly the time has gone. I made this card for them.

I had some lovely images from a past issue of Making Cards Magazine. I used the backing paper from there too.

This is a Signature die. I was making the card and I wanted a Happy Anniversary die but I didn't have one. So I ordered one from Joanna Sheen it arrived in two days and then I finished the card.

I had to use this image for the couple. They have a story from a few years back when we had lots of snow. Well the girl had to drive home to Portsmouth along the A3 and she got stuck. Her partner walked for two hours through the snow to her and they spent the night together in the car.

I hope they liked this card.

Have a great week.

Happy Birthday with a Beautiful Bird

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I hope you have something nice planned. We are meeting our daughter for veil shopping and she wants to get some other things for the wedding  as well. She is staying over night so she will be here for Mother's Day which is nice.

I have been making birthday cards again. This one was made from the left over bits from a larger card I made. As all the papers and card were out  this card didn't take long to put together.

I chose the image first and then I found papers and a ribbon in my stash that would suit.

This has to be my favourite Happy Birthday die it is the one designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. I cut it once in green and once in black so I could create a shadow. I think this helps the sentiment to show against the background.

This is another Pollyanna Pickering image from a Creative World of Crafts pad that I have. I do love
her images.

Our Magnolia tree is looking amazing this year. I thought I would share a couple of photos with you. The blooms aren't  usually this pink.

Have a great weekend. I will let you know how the shopping goes.

Sympathy card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week is going well. It is not long till the weekend. We are seeing our daughter on Saturday and I am in the process of writing a list of things to ask her so I don't forget anything.

I recently used my last Sympathy card. So I decided to make another one for my stash  as sadly you never know when the need will arise.

All the dies I used for this card are designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. I decided to use the Stitched Lattice Frames dies to create the card so I cut a mat with the largest die and I worked in from there and I made a card blank to suit. I cut the Stitched Lattice in white and added some patterned paper behind.

I cut the With Sympathy die from mauve and purple card so I was able to create  a shadow effect. The pierced oval was cut with outer die from the Oval Just for You die set.

I added the Exquisite Poppies to the side of the design,

I hope I don't have to use this card for a long time.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Bunny Easter Card

Hi my Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week has started well.

I was given some old cards by someone at work. I sorted through them and the majority I didn't keep. But this bunny image was so adorable I had to use it.

I wanted to use yellow and green for the mats and layers as those colours say Spring to me. The spotty paper was in my stash.

Aren't the bunnies cute you  can see why I had to use them. I cut an aperture for the bunnies and a frame using the Sue Wilson Double Pierced Rectangle dies.

These last die-cuts came from the Easter Basket die-set by Sue Wilson.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Christmas in March

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? We visited our parents yesterday and dropped off Mother's Day presents. Next weekend is planned for veil shopping so there will be no time to visit them. Everyone is being very understanding about our time constraints at the moment. On a positive note I have finished making the flowers for the table decorations and we have solved the problem of attaching them to the glass contaniers. So lots of progress there.

I have been trying to get ahead with my Design Team makes and for one of them I needed to make a Christmas card. While all the stuff was out I made another two cards. I now have  10 Christmas cards  which is not bad considering all the other things I am making.

This was quite a simple card to make in fact I made two. The background came from an old issue of Making Cards Magazine.

I cut the Deer Family die set from Brown card. I do love this die set I go back to it again and again it was a very good investment. All the dies I used are ones designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I do like how the mum and baby face the dad.

I cut this Merry Christmas die from glitter card.

A nice quick but rather effective card. I think I have some more of these backgrounds I might make some more.

Alphabet Challenge - Letter A - Anything with Wings

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday. The weekend is here. I wonder what you have planned. We are hoping to visit our parents on Saturday and on Sunday we will be doing more jobs for the wedding.

The new challenge starts today on the Alphabet Challenge blog we are right back at the start with letter A and the theme is Anything with Wings.

I am sharing the Father's Day card I made for my husband.

I used another of the images from my pack of Pollyanna Pickering images. I am enjoying using these. I did trim the image to make it in to a square.

I used my Father's Day Signature die again this time I trimmed it so it fitted with the design.

This owl is so cute. The pad has five of each type on image so you might be seeing him again.

Have a great weekend.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) - Handmade Flowers

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week is going well. I have been enjoying the more spring like weather we have been having and all the daffodils are looking gorgeous.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the theme is Handmade Flowers.

Well I am making lots of paper flowers for our daughter's wedding. Including buttonholes for people to wear. Here is a link to the page where you can see the things I am making for the wedding.

This was my first attempt, although I have made all the buttonholes, the final design is different to this one. I used the Cape Daisy die collection, designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions, to make the flowers. I shaped the flowers once I had stuck them together and I made a hole with my pokey tool in the middle. Then I threaded through a wired pearly embellishment that I had cut down. The leaves were cut with the Faux Quilled Leaves die.

I stuck some florist wire to the back of the leaves. I twisted the wires from the embellishments round the florist wire. Then I covered the stems with florist tape. Now this is weird stuff and I had not used it before. I opened the first packet the tape was not sticky. So I opened another packet I had got from a different source this also was not sticky. So I turned to Google and I discovered that the tape becomes sticky as you use it. I added a pin with more florist tape.

Here is my husband modelling this buttonhole on his jacket. He did like this design.

A Birthday Card made with the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

Hi My Craft Blog Friends

How is your week going? We have had some sun here which has cheered things up a bit. I am still working on bits for the our daughter's wedding. There is a lot to do.

I made a card at a Craft day last year and I wasn't happy with it. So last week I decided to  make it into a bigger card.

The central part of the card is what I made at the workshop. I liked everything about it but not the size. This was easily changed.

The flower and sentiment came from the Birthday Blooms stamp set by Stampin Up. I can't now remember how the flowers were coloured which is a shame.

I do like how this turned out. I will be happy to send this card to someone now and all the effort has not been wasted.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Thinking of You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We popped over to the New Forest  to drop off the dress I had bought for the wedding as it needed a small repair. Being earlier than we expected we just had a coffee in a rather nice pub. After that we headed into Southampton for a rather successful shopping trip followed by lunch. It was a very productive day. On Sunday I spent some time making more flowers for the wedding of course.

I was asked to make a card for a man that had a nasty road accident. The person who asked me to make the card had stayed with him until the ambulance came. I decided to use one of the owl images and papers that came with Making Cards Magazine last month.

I have made a card with this set of papers and images before and it has proved rather popular as it has been sat on my shelf especially with the person who asked me to make the card.

The owl is lovely and just a bit quirky.

I used dies I had won in a competition for the sentiment.

I have enjoyed using these images and papers from Making Cards Magazine.

Have a great week.

Father's Day Card Number Three

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you will be doing. We are going back to the shop where I got my outfit for the wedding as the dress needs a tiny repair. The shop is in the New Forest so we are planning to have a nice lunch in one of the lovely pubs over there. Then it will be back to the house for more wedding makes.

I have made the last Father's Day card that I need for this year. This one will be for my dad. He always likes birds coming to visit in the garden especially the cheeky robins.

I decided to use another Pollyanna Pickering image from the pack I bought recently. I used the textured brick card from my stash and inked it with Distress Ink. I surrounded the image with die cuts to match the foliage in the painting. I used the following dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions: Ivy Leaves, Laurel Leaves and the twigs from the Festive Bough set.

I think this image would also make a rather nice new home card.

This die is from the Signature Collection by Joanna Sheen I have used it a lot.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.
